I love looking at trees because they are peaceful. When we moved into the house, we had one small Red Bud in the backyard. Our house is on the corner and looks down a long street with a row of houses on each side. I could literally count most of the houses down the street. This did not appeal to me. I like to see trees instead of homogenous and neatly placed homes in suburbia. I also feel more privacy in the bedrooms by having trees strategically growing tall and wide to block a passerby’s view. For that reason, Alan and I went to a local nursery and bought at least 10 trees and 2 shrubs. We bought the trees small and spent only about $200 – $300 dollars overall. Look at them know.
The Chinese Pistache, a Texas Star, is the most prominent tree outside the master bedroom. Also viewable is the Corkscrew Willow and our neighbor’s beautiful and ancient Live Oak. Can you see any houses? Maybe if you squint. I met my goal.
