Auckland bus tour and Mission Bay stop

Upon arriving in a new city, I enjoy receiving a guided overview of what the city has to offer, especially if I am only going to spend 1 or 2 days in that city. I get the overall flavor of the city quickly. Then, with my limited time, I can explore in greater detail the areas of most interest.

We arrived in Auckland on a Sunday and got a taste of how Aucklanders live on a Sunday morning. With all its natural beauty, Auckland encourages athleticism. On our way to Mission Bay, we saw runners, cyclists, and walkers on a paved trail along the water.

Once we got to Mission Bay, I felt like I was in a California town by the sea in the winter, similar to La Jolla with all the cafes and views of the water. The food offerings looked imaginative and I could dream about returning to Auckland with Alan and staying at a hotel in downtown Auckland. Then, either renting bicycles to bike to Mission Bay or running to it. The run would be one way because we would carry money to stop and eat breakfast in the cool air. After, we would call a taxi to return to our downtown hotel.

The spirit of Auckland is sporty.
